As part of our commercial corridor focus, we will highlight a Brightwood Business of the Month each month. Please join us in supporting our local businesses - stop by, say hi, spend some of your hard-earned cash, and tell them you saw them on the BCA website!
Our Business of the Month for December is Andrene's Caribbean and Soul Food. Technically located just south of Brightwood, Andrene's is nevertheless close by, a local business a short ride away at 3rd and Kennedy St NW. Operating since 2006, Andrene's serves traditional southern dishes as well as delicious Caribbean food. Andrene's brought its Caribbean hospitality at our Holiday Party this weekend, and the jerk chicken, curried chicken, cabbage, and red beans and rice disappeared! And don't just take our word for it...Andrene's has received good reviews in the Washingtonian, Washington Post, and DC North. They offer discounts for college students, police officers, and postal workers. They also post specials on their website (www.andrenes.com) and Facebook page. Located at 308 Kennedy Street NW, you can come in or call in your order to 202-291-7007.
The restaurant keeps long hours to provide you breakfast, lunch or a late dinner and you can call ahead and order for pick-up, an easy stop on the way home from work. Andrene's is open from 8am - 9:30pm Monday through Saturday. Breakfast is served from 8-11am, and lunch specials are $5 between 11:30-2:30. Catering is also available.

Washington Deli: BCA members have raved about the breakfast sandwiches, pizzas and vegetarian fare. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and offer office catering. They even have CURBSIDE PICK-UP if you call in your order. Washington Deli is located at 5830 Georgia Ave, right on the corner of Georgia and Missouri. They are open from 7:00 am - 8:00 pm Mon-Thur, 7:00 am - 9:00 pm Fri-Sat, and 7:00 am - 6:00 pm on Sunday. Check them out, the service and the prices are good.
